On the whole not too bad. We had one problem with our meter being read incorrectly, resulting in a bill that was too high, but they sorted it out quickly. A supervisor came to check our reading and the amount we had overpaid by was taken off the next bill.

I have been with nPower for about 4 years and on the whole they have been very efficient. My experience of their customer service has been good. The only niggle is separate bills for gas and electric (although that could be a good thing) and the occasional rise in the fixed monthly direct debit because they believe that you are not paying enough. If you do overpay they give it you back! I am only considering switching because of their recent price rises and the fact that there are cheaper companies for my area out there with savings of up to 140 pa. If nPower is coming up the cheapest for you then give them a try.
